Richard Rockne Crowell

Class of 1965

Born:  July 1, 1947  - Place:  El Segundo, California. 
Parents:  Bill and Fran Crowell.

At El Segundo High School

Lettered in football, wrestling, and track at the Cee, Bee,  JV, and Varsity levels.  Member of Varsity Club.  Archbearer for the 1964 commencement ceremonies.  Member of the 1964 Pioneer League Championship football team.


Attended Cal-State Long Beach, El Camino College, Long Beach City College, Cal-State Los Angeles, Cal Poly Pomona, and UCLA Extension.  Graduated from Automation Institute of America.


Began a career in Information Technology in 1969 with Transamerica Information Services in Los Angeles.  Hired by Hughes Aircraft Company in 1978 as a senior systems programmer at the Fullerton site.  Continued with Hughes until 1995 when most Information Technology functions were outsourced to Computer Sciences Corporation in San Diego.  Retired from CSC in 2003 as a Computer Scientist Sr.   

In 1985 began volunteering my time to various youth athletic activities in Irvine.  Coached soccer, baseball, softball, and football.  Spent five years on the board of directors of Irvine Youth Football, finishing as president of that organization the last two years.  Became involved with the Northwood High School athletic programs in 1999.  Utilized my career skills to enhance many functions performed by the Northwood athletic department.  Maintain three websites, video tape all varsity football games, and provide statistics for the coaching staff after each football game.
